From a StageStruck Cast Member ~

It is the final night and I am stepping out on the stage. My heart is racing, my palms are sweating, but it is good. Tonight, I can be anybody I want to be. It began in elementary school and continues even now ~ singing, acting, trying to dance ~ the art of drama. A family friend said I should try out for StageStruck. I talked my cousin into going to auditions with me. Next thing I know, we were both a part of the cast.

I really like being part of a nervous, chaotic group and seeing us become organized and pull off a great production. It takes a lot of practice, patience, time and hard work. There is always a lot of nervousness, nail-biting, waiting, excitement and some sadness during a play. I like getting caught up in the wave of emotions that goes with being around a bunch of friends and learning and trying new things during the production. I enjoy learning how to act, sing and dance and volunteering my time to give back to the community. Kids of different ages get to know each other, so there is lots of talking, laughter and fun. It feels like a real family. My time on stage has made me more confident, and I have learned a lot about music and drama. I am glad to be a part of the StageStruck organization and have made many friends here. It is fun to go on stage as someone else, to make the audience laugh, and to hear their applause. ~ Stephen Ligon ~
