In February/March of each year, StageStruck continues its tradition of performing large-cast musicals, such as Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables. Auditions are held in December and rehearsals begin in January led by Theatre Arts Professionals sharing their talents to prepare our cast members for their roles. All performances are held at the Paramount Theatre in Goldsboro, NC. There are also opportunities for students to work the technical side of a show by moving sets and operating spotlights. Rehearsals are typically held during the week from 6:30-8:30 pm and on the weekends as needed leading up to the show. For more information about our upcoming Musical Premiere, click here.
In November, StageStruck often presents a non-musical production. Some of our past shows have included Eb Scrooge: A Southern Fried Carol, Alice in Wonderland and High School Musical. Our shows provide a variety of fantasies, Christmas themes and classic stories. Auditions are held in late August or early September and rehearsals begin as soon as the cast list is posted.
Our Curtain Warmers are usually comprised of 1st - 3rd grade students, depending on the show. They perform before the start of most of our musical performances, singing and dancing to a few of the songs in the production. They warm up our audience and get them ready to enjoy a night at the theatre. They often tend to steal the show! Auditions are usually held after the main cast has been selected and typically follow a once-a-week rehearsal schedule. During production week, rehearsals are held each night.
Reservations for the Fall Production school show begin each year on Sept 1. Reservations for the Musical Premiere begin each year on Dec 1. Reservations for the March one-week performance will be announced in early March.
